One afternoon, after going down to the horsecamp, Bowie crawled up into my lap to read books. He curled up and fell asleep on my shoulder. My mother in law laid out a blanket in the shade under the hummingbird feeders. Those tiny bright birds twittered and darted above him. I thought, what an amazing thing, to wake to the sound of hummingbirds.

i absoltuely love your work. i like the angles and different perspective you capture. :] your son is adorable!
by the way i found you flickr's explore thing. it's an awsome site :]
Oh Autumn..your pictures remind me of something Victorian..small children dreaming in the outdoors..Alice in Wonderland or those girls that pictured fairies...or Peter Pan.. I just love your photos,,,something very turn-of-the-century about it all. Who are your ancestors? I'm interested!
thank you christina- how cool you saw my explore pic!
raquel- what a beautiful compliment. i'm welsh but long time texan ;) you've inpsired me to shop for some victorian clothes.
I knooow I commented on this one on flickr already, but god Autumn it's just so beautiful. Seriously, it's like being transported into centuries past. The perspective, the tones, the whole *feel* of it is so exquisitely dreamy and yet at the same time almost lost - a little boy, (seemingly) all on his own out in the middle of nowhere. Makes me think of Hansel & Grettel.
amanda, thank you thank you for stopping by and encouraging me so!
